The Absolute By: Sri Chinmoy

This wonderful poem was sent to me by Satish and I dedicate it to Amit Meshram who today passed away at an early age of 25. I knew Amit as a virtuous , non Indulgent , absolutely honest and a pure at heart individual who had all the ingredients to be a liberated soul. His sense of perfection was easily seen in his work and the strict disciplines that he maintained. I never seen him sway from his high ideals in life . Amit always made sure he never caused anyone any trouble or disturbance and carried on his duties with utmost care and determination. He spoke very less but whatever he spoke was simple and truthful. I find myself fortunate to having known such a Saintly person , who even being younger inspired me always. He was a perfect soul who returned to the absolute at the early hours on this auspicious day...

No mind, no form, I only exist;
Now ceased all will and thought;
The final end of Nature's dance,
I am it whom I have sought.

A realm of Bliss bare, ultimate;
Beyond both knower and known;
A rest immense I enjoy at last;
I face the One alone.

I have crossed the secret ways of life,
I have become the Goal.
The Truth immutable is revealed;
I am the way, the God Soul.

My spirit aware of all the heights,
I am mute in the core of the Sun.
I barter nothing with time and deeds;
My cosmic play is done

The Ice breaker

I was born in an Indian Family in West Bengal ... I got to see from very beginning how hard my mom and dad worked to provide the best to us in terms of education and livelihood. To my mom Education was of paramount importance in life. I was enrolled to the best school in the district. St Vincent's High & Tech school Asansol, A school so rich in heritage that taught me to be humble in life. It has left a deep sense of nostalgia. It was a Christian Brothers Missionary run institution .Even though I was from a different religion I saw in the Irish brothers as strong, disciplined, somewhat rigid, somewhat austere, yet virtuous and principled. I learn t to respect their sense of discipline in day to day activities , to be as constant as the northern star and contribute to the society with our intellect and hard work. After my tenth ,My father took retirement as the chief Scientist in his Laboratory and we moved to Kolkata I went to Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda centenary Collage , again run by the Missionaries, but this time Hindus , and again I saw the same pattern of discipline and self control, Its difficult to define the level of personality possessed by these monks, their eyes glitter with knowledge and the face lit up with confidence. their aim in life is to gather and impart knowledge selflessly. I majored in Physics and entered the world of uncertainty, it was only then I realized the value of orderliness against chaos. I was quite lost and used to crib about things I didn't understand. But there was something about the chaotic world which was interesting , it is the same difference between a manicured garden and a wild country side . The chaos itself has a tremendous creative force, the tendency's unlimited . I could see that if discipline was the sustainer, chaos was about creation and destruction. Chaos is every where. When we stare out at the universe we find supernova explosions , asteroids striking against asteroids, stars being formed and destroyed As if nothing is stable yet we know that within this chaos there exist solar system like ours where the planets circle around the sun in the most disciplined way for billions of years.Everything in the universe follows a set of rules yet the chaotic nature brings the beauties of this world into existence, Now coming back to our personal life we see that same chaos bringing with it immense uncertainty. To remain happy in life in this world of uncertainties on needs to keep expectations to the minimum and fullfill ones daily responsibilities with greatest care.

The ship

Human beings are everywhere, we see chaos and commotion every place.In a place like Mumbai the problems are immense. People are crammed into every corner. The Life in Mumbai revolves around earning money. People work hard to make enough savings to have enough to survive. The money earned is never enough, even though the richest and the poorest populate the city, Mumbai is equal to all, All have to work sixteen hours a day.Proximity breeds contempt , is a proverb which has been proven wrong in a place like Mumbai. Here collaboration is no more a choice but a necessity of life.Its like a ship on rough waters, all hands on deck, any exception is a traitor. Mumbai is the ship which has set out in search of treasure crewed by pirates slaves and freemen expecting to be wealthy someday, sacrificing their present for a better future. Life is difficult but none cares, since nobody is an exception here, its a fight for survival in the midst of severe uncertainties.Some one cries out Yo ho with a bottle of rum while the other holds on to the cross in silent prayer, Other just dreams of a wonderful future with a beautiful wife and happy children.All bear the vagaries of this unending voyage. But the question is weather the wealth they are seeking is really their heart felt desire. All human beings wants trust, they want loyalty, Love yet in this ship there is distrust ,jealousy ,deceit, greed and trickery. No ones really sure what they are after. But even within all this the people are one their strength is in their unity, At times of trouble there co-operation speaks the human nature,through their helpfulness they prove themselves to be children of god, through their childlike laughter they prove their innocent hearts deep within, The wealth they are seeking are right there with them, they just need to realize it

Personality types

I guess stubborn nature of human beings always prevents people accepting alternative views in life. Thats what instigates them to be vindictive to others different from them. Yet There are times in the life of a human being when he feels lost , cannot justify himself by what he finds around him. It happens when his personality type is at mismatch with people around him and he started feeling left out. We have seen in so many movies where they try to establish that the odd one out actually proves himself to be a hero at difficult times, when every one has backed out from the task. Actually speaking everyone is a hero in their own way and whatever the personality type he or she possesses, the secret of success lies in realizing their potential and weaknesses and using it for their benefit , I t also helps to study personality types to grow trust and respect for the people we view as strangers. And understand how to make partnerships work. With these thoughts in mind i took an online test a few days back to find out whether it seriously works. To get the best results we must convince ourselves to be most honest and Spontaneous. Being spontaneous is important because spontaneity brings out our true identity.I was personally amazed to discover how accurately it described me. Being of the INTP type I realized that I had the potential to view things as a singular whole and judge people not by their individual rights and wrongs but by the summation of their persona. I also realized the people that I least trusted can become my best partner in life. I saw that ENTJ s had the qualities i absolutely missed yet I had things in me that they lacked. I never trusted them because I did not ever understood them and their words and actions conveyed different meaning to me than what they meant to them. Yet if i recall , these are the people who have naturally appealed to me since they possessed what i lacked the most. This small test taught me to be respectful to all people as having different sets of qualities and how important they were to form a coherent group. If every one educates themselves with such ideas the world will be a better place to live.
